Launched in 1985 with a focus on Acceptance and Maintenance Testing, Potomac has expanded over the years to also offer the full range power system support, including Engineering, Cabling, Field and Refurbishing Services. President Ken Bassett owes the company’s growth and success to the superior team. “As we evolved to handle more of our clients’ power needs, we have always been committed to finding top, experienced talent.” Today, many of the team members have been with Potomac Testing for more than 15 years. More recent hires carefully round out the staff’s experience and capabilities.
Ken Bassett has also personally taken a leading role in the national body, NETA (InterNational Electrical Testing Association) that sets standards and certifies technicians in the medium and high voltage industry. As a result, Potomac is passionate about certification and continuing education for its team, with the goal of maintaining the highest industry standards for safety and quality.
This commitment has served Potomac Testing well – after all, this is a service business where the daily charge is to maintain critical infrastructure and safe working environments for clients as well as employees.
While Potomac Testing teams travel across the U.S. and even around the world to serve long-standing clients, they are recognized as the premier provider in the mid-Atlantic, with a headquarters in Maryland and additional locations in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Richmond, Virginia.
